Are you looking for somewhere to hold your weekly or monthly meeting? Or to hold a party or other social occasion? Even a musical extravaganza? Then welcome to the Darby and Joan Hall in the middle of Cottingham. Finkle Street to be exact. It is a very popular venue for all kinds of activities. We have two Halls available for hire, so read on.

The Hall itself was founded in 1954 as a charity, and was built to act as a “social centre for the social, moral and physical well-being of elderly people residing in Cottingham and for such other charitable purposes as from time to time be agreed upon”. However, since 1954, changes in economic and social conditions have meant that the Hall has become, in effect, the village hall for Cottingham and it is now used for a variety of purposes by all age groups.

It is managed by a Committee of Trustees, all of whom are volunteers.
